Making it easier for the medical team to explain the treatment

to the child and his family.

Together they can visually follow and understand the recovery path.

Making The Vision come true

The Project was presented in SIOP conference in Lyon (October 2019).

After which - a collaboration between Doctors, CCI - Parents organisations

and a pharmaceutic company, is now establishing.

In a mutual goal to distribute the Illustrated Protocol AIEOP-BFM ALL 2017 maps

and develop illustrated maps for other child cancer protocols.

This is a presentation giving to Doctors in a steering committee April 2020:

My name is Zohar Shalev.
I am a mother to a girl that was cured from Leukemia
and a designer, specializing in wayfinding design.
After her recovery, I established a design-studio, focused on inventing and designing an information tool - a visual language and method,

to help families going through this journey.

In the past 3 years, it is used at The Pediatric Hemato-Oncology Department at Schneider Children Medical Center of Israel.
Given to  ALL patients, proving itself as a practical tool for both patients and their medical team. Receiving positive feedbacks when presented to medical teams from other hospitals as well.

It is my vision to further develop the project to other child cancer protocols and to distribute to as many needed children as possible and help patients understand their protocol.

THANK YOU

MD Gilad Gil - Senior Physician in the oncology unit in Schneider:

"Zohar, thanks to her intelligence, personal experience and professional abilities, managed to set in motion an important development and to recruit the departmental and hospital management teams for the project. The Protocol's illustrated maps, on which we've been working for the past year, have been enthusiastically received by both the patients and their parents. The unique presentation, charming graphics and lucid texts that accompany them enable users to familiarize themselves with the different treatment stages and help them better prepare for what's to come in terms of expectations, instructions, schedules, logistics, side effects, and more. It was a privilege to partake in Zohar's project, which will ameliorate the way we administer the treatment".

Chen Miren-Kaspi Nurse - oncology unit in Schinder

"Hi Zohar, my name is Chen Miren-Kaspi, I worked in the oncology unit as a nurse while your daughter was ill. I saw the protocol map that you designed for the Leukemia treatment today at a medical conference and was so excited that I had to share my feelings with you.

It is amazing! Perfect and much more, I'm lost for words for how genius it came out.

Your map simplifies, explains, educates and gives a feeling of comfort, wow!

I couldn't stop admiring your project! It’s a most beautiful, esthetic, and really significant and important thing.

It is very difficult to explain this complex Protocol, and what you accomplished is god's work!

I can't stop writing, as I feel that what I'm trying to say doesn't start to describe my strong feeling of admiration for your project.

Wishing you all the best, lots of well being and health, forever!"
